Uno 16M thin client
Overview
World’s first and only x86 thin client integrated into an LCD monitor. Features industry lowest power consumption for an x86 thin client.
The U16M blends the low power SoC advantage of the M2 with the integrated (all-in-one) look of the U19V. This revolutionary product has been created with the philosophy that less is more. At 18W, it is the least power consuming desktop computer in the market. It also features the lowest size and weight for any desktop. The U16L is thus ideally suited for rural sites that depend on solar power. It also serves well as a portable computer lab that is moved from village to village in a small vehicle.
The U16M’s powerful x86 processor can seamlessly connect to Windows and Linux servers using the RDP, X11 and VNC protocols. Web based remote monitoring and management are bundled within the Linux based firmware of the thin client.
The U16M is a completely legacy free device. It is a true “zero client” – the thin client has been blended into a standard LCD display. It can easily be VESA mounted, freeing up valuable desk space.

Micro 5 Thin Client
Overview
Weighing 500 grams and occupying only 500ml of space, the M5 is easily the smallest Atom based thin client in the entire world. Its N230 processor enables the M5 to deliver performance far in excess of a thin client. It is in fact a complete cloud computing desktop, bundled with both Firefox and Chrome web browsers, and plugins for PDF, Flash and Java. It features a media player that decodes MPEG-4 H.264 and other latest codecs, a complete office suite, videoconferencing, email and chat. Standard thin client protocols like RDP, ICA, X11 and VNC are of course supported, apart from newer protocols like NX, VMware View and SSH.
The M5 is a completely legacy free device, with an aesthetic, low profile design. It fits beautifully into modern offices and homes, adding a touch of glamour. The bundled VESA mount lets it disappear behind an LCD display, or wall mount next to a TV.

Solutions for the Networked Client
Developers have always sought for new and innovative ways to take their applications to their users. For far too long, Windows based PCs and thin clients were the only client side systems available. Cloud computing has changed all that. With the ubiquity of the Internet and mobile devices, user expectations have completely transformed. Thinvent helps you reach your applications to this new generation of users.
Our software products have been devised with your needs in mind:
- How can we rapidly deploy applications nationwide?
- How does one interact with a plethora of client side peripherals, when using server side computing?
- How do we monitor and manage this vast network of disparate devices?
- How can different teams like network, hardware, data centre and application development, work together to rapidly resolve customer issues.
- I can maintain server uptime at my data centre, but how to I deliver uptime in the field? Can server side applications be delivered on the clients, even when the network is unavailable? How do we synchronise data in such scenarios?
By resolving the above problems, we have enabled numerous government projects to scale to the farthest corners of the country.
Products

Digital Screen Technology
Thinvent has created revolutionary new technology that tightly binds together the display panel and the computer mainboard to create an integrated digital display. These all-in-one units form the building block of your next product, whether it is an interactive kiosk, digital signage, thin client, low cost computer or educational device.
- LCD sizes – 7″ to 42″ diagonal
- Processor – 300 MHz ARM+DSP to Atom Dual Core 1.6 GHz
- RAM and flash – configurable. Soldered on board for robustness.
- Power Supply – DC 12V (directly powered from external brick, solar charger or battery) or 230V AC (directly powered from wall socket).
- Backlight – LED or CCFL
- Optional integrated peripherals – Touchscreen, speakers, HDD.
- Optional external peripherals – Biometric scanner, keypad, breath analyser, smart card reader, thermal printer, bar code scanner, magnetic swipe reader, LED display, cash and coin handlers, etc.
Laptops are fragile, portable and essentially personal devices. PCs are power hungry, large, and complex to install and maintain. In contrast, Thinvent’s Digital Screens are robust equipment built for constant use in tough environments. Coupled with the Thinux OS and API, they give your application the power of “build once, deploy many”. Our flagship customers are already enjoying the fruits of this scalability.
Interactive Kiosks
Thinvent provides a one-stop solution for both interactive and self-service kiosks. Interactive kiosks help you popularise your products and services, and receive customer feedback. Self-service kiosks allow you to carry out a plethora of business transactions in an automated and electronic manner.
Thinvent has worked on some of the largest kiosk projects in the country, with applications as varied as ticketing, HR, safety, reservation and enquiry. We take care of all the hardware, software and application needs of a kiosk.
Thinvent provides integration with a mind-boggling array of peripheral devices. Biometric scanners, touchscreens, thermal printers, GPRS modems, large plasma displays, smart card readers, bar code scanners, cameras, LED displays, serial data loggers, relays, breath analysers, UPS monitors, laser printers – these are just some of the devices that we have successfully integrated into kiosks for various projects.
Thinvent’s kiosks are stable, secure, manageable, versatile and fully customisable. Constant remote monitoring ensures high service uptime of your kiosks. Each product is backed by our vast experience in the kiosk field. Thinvent will assist you in converting your operator-driven applications to customer-facing kiosk format applications.
