Projects

Thinvent has been fortunate enough to participate in numerous IT projects of national importance. We are happy to have contributed in the success of these projects through our innovation and hard work. Please click on the links below to access case studies on some of these projects:

  • Indian Railways. The Indian Railways are our primary customer. We work with the CRIS, the nodal agency for IT implementation in the Railways, on the following projects:
    • Crew Management System – we provide thin client firmware, kiosks, biometric authentication, breath analysis, server clustering and remote monitoring.
    • Unified Ticketing Client – we provide firmware for unreserved and reserved passenger ticketing terminals.
    • Passenger Reservation System – we provide terminal emulation software, Hindi printing subsystems, charting, and terminal repeater systems.
    • Automatic Ticket Vending Machine – we provide firmware that integrates touch screens, thermal printers, smart card readers and databases in a graphical Java based ticketing kiosk.
    • The SLAM project automates locomotive shed operations. We provide thin client firmware, WAN optimisation and NMS.
    • We have designed ruggedised branch office servers for the Parcel Management Project. Database and web portal services are provided locally by these redundant servers, thus reducing dependence on the WAN.
  • Digital Signage – we have provided total technology solutions for the following digital signage projects
    • A low cost advertising solution for Carinov Networks, that provides automated content upgrade and management through removable flash drives.
    • We developed a modern terminal repeater for Vyoma, that combines ticketing information with multimedia advertising. Multiple displays are powered from a single processor, with each display featuring separate content and information.
    • In partnership with Aum, we have designed an in-vehicle information system that updates passengers on destination arrival. This project utilises the latest technologies such as GPS and GPRS on a 32 bit microprocessor platform.
  • We have assisted Coral Telecom in the development of the following Voice over IP products:
    • A soft switch that is scalable to hundreds of thousands of lines.
    • A DSP based media gateway that provides TDM to IP, IP to IP conversion and call control, for more than 200 concurrent channels.
