Dynamic IP Configuration

Steps to configure Dynamic IP:

• Open the Firefox or Chrome web browser.

• Type localhost or 127.0.0.1 in the browser's URL field.

• Enter your Webmin Login name = root and password=thinux in the Webmin server login dialog box.

• Click Networking in the left pane of Webmin. Click Network Configuration to list the available network interfaces.

• Click the name of the network interface you want to edit. For a wireless network, click the wlan0 option.

• Once the interface is recognized, configure it as follows:

• If you want the interface to be brought up at boot time, set the Activate at boot? field to Yes.

• In the protocol field, select DHCP.

• In the IP Address field, either enter an address or select the From DHCP option to have one assigned dynamically.

• Enter the netmask of the interface's network in the Netmask field, such as 255.255.255.0.

• In the Primary Name Server field, enter the address of the primary name server, such as 4.2.2.2.

• In the Secondary Name Server field, enter the address of the secondary name server, such as 8.8.8.8.

• In the default domain field, enter the default domain.

• Click Save and Apply.

Wait a few seconds for the network interface to restart with the new IP address, or restart the device.
