Thin Computer

Remote Desktop is a technology that lets a local computer connect to and control a remote PC over a network or the Internet. The connection uses Remote Desktop Services (RDS), or a terminal service, which uses Microsoft's proprietary Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).

A thin client computer, also known as a thin client, replaces a desktop PC. It provides the functionality of a desktop PC without the high cost of purchase and maintenance.

You can use a thin client in many ways. First, you can connect a thin client to your existing desktop or laptop computer. Your computer is most likely already connected to a modem or router for Internet access. Purchase one of our Micro thin clients and connect it to the same router, modem or switch using an Ethernet cable. The thin client then connects to your PC over RDP, and you can work on both your PC and your thin client at the same time. You can connect several thin clients to your computer in this manner. Thin clients are an inexpensive and effective way to let 5 to 10 or more people share one desktop computer.
