An industrial PC (IPC) is a computer built to run continuously in environments where a standard desktop or office PC would quickly fail. Instead of a plastic chassis with open vents and a single cooling fan, an industrial PC typically uses a rugged metal enclosure, wide-temperature components, fanless or passively cooled designs, and a fixed bill of materials that stays available for years.
