What Is an ARM-Based Computer?
An ARM-based computer uses a processor built on the ARM architecture, a reduced instruction set design licensed by ARM. ARM processors are energy efficient, produce little heat, and need no fan. This makes them suited to compact, always-on systems such as thin clients, mini PCs and embedded devices.
The Thinvent Micro range uses two ARM Cortex processors. The Micro 5R uses the ARM Cortex-A53, a quad-core processor running up to 2.0 GHz. The Micro 6 Pro uses the ARM Cortex-A55, a quad-core processor running up to 1.9 GHz with 1 MB of cache. Both processors run the Thinux embedded Linux operating system.

Use Cases
ARM-based computers suit kiosks, digital signage, point-of-sale terminals, remote desktop access, and light office or information display tasks. Because they draw little power and run silently, they fit in offices, retail counters and industrial sites where space and noise are limited.
Thinvent ARM-Based Products
Thinvent has ARM-based systems in several configurations. The Micro 5R Thin Client is available with a VESA mount, with a keyboard and mouse set, or with an HDMI to VGA cable. The Micro 6 Pro Mini PC is available with a VESA mount, with a keyboard and mouse set, or with an HDMI to VGA cable. Choose the Micro 5R for a lower-cost thin client with WiFi 6, or the Micro 6 Pro for more memory and storage.
