What Is a Mini PC?
A mini PC is a small-form-factor computer that runs a full desktop operating system such as Windows 11 Pro or Ubuntu Linux. It has a processor, memory, storage, and video and network ports in a compact housing. Mini PCs are used where a full tower PC takes too much space, or where a computer must sit behind a display, on a wall mount, or inside a kiosk or machine.
Thinvent mini PCs are built for business, retail, office, and industrial use. The range covers three processor families. Thinvent Aero models use Intel Core processors, including the 12th-generation Core i3-1215U, 12th-generation Core i7-1255U, 13th-generation Core i5-1335U, 14th-generation Core 5 120U, and Core Ultra 5 125U. Thinvent Treo models use AMD Ryzen 5 7430U or Intel N5095A processors. The Thinvent Micro 6 Pro uses an ARM Cortex-A55 processor and runs Thinux embedded Linux.
Key Specifications
Processor core count, clock speed and cache set the computing capacity of a mini PC. The Core i7-1255U has 10 cores and reaches 4.7 GHz. The Core Ultra 5 125U has 12 cores and 12 MB of cache. The Intel N5095A has 4 cores and reaches 2.9 GHz, which suits light office and display tasks.
Memory and storage determine how many applications run at once and how much data the system holds. Thinvent mini PCs ship with 4 GB to 16 GB of RAM. The Aero Core Ultra 5 model uses 16 GB of DDR5 RAM. Most other models use DDR4. Storage is a solid-state drive (SSD) from 128 GB to 512 GB. The Micro 6 Pro uses 32 GB of eMMC storage.
Connectivity options vary by model. Some models include Dual Band WiFi, some have no WiFi, and some include Dual LAN for two wired network connections. The Micro 6 Pro includes Dual Antenna WiFi and an HDMI port.
