What Is an Exor Panel PC?

An Exor panel PC is an industrial computer built by EXOR International, an Italian automation company whose hardware range includes industrial HMIs, IoT gateways, embedded systems and panel PCs. What Defines a Panel PC

A panel PC integrates a display, touch surface and a complete computer into a single front-mount enclosure, so it can be cut into a machine panel, cabinet door or control console and wired directly to plant equipment. The critical characteristics buyers compare are:

  • Display and touch: screen size (commonly 15.6", with 21.5" and 23.8" also popular), resolution, and touch technology such as projected capacitive (PCAP) multi-touch.

  • Ingress protection: IP65 or IP66 rated front panels allow washdown and dusty-environment installation when the rear enclosure is protected.

  • Processing: Intel Core i3/i5 class processors with 4 to 12 cores, matched to the HMI, SCADA or edge-analytics workload.

Panel PC vs. Separate IPC and Monitor

Many integrators choose between an all-in-one panel PC and a separate industrial PC plus a panel monitor. A panel PC reduces wiring, saves cabinet space and simplifies the bill of materials, but it ties the computer's service life to the display. A separate IPC and monitor lets you upgrade the compute independently and place the PC away from heat or vibration.
