Fanless Mini PCs for Silent Music Servers

Roon Core needs steady CPU performance, enough memory for the music library, and reliable storage. Thinvent mini PCs with the Intel® N100 processor provide 4 cores, a maximum frequency of 3.4 GHz and 6 MB of cache. Models are available with 4 GB, 8 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, and with 32 GB to 256 GB of SSD storage. The 64 GB RAM model suits large libraries and multi-zone setups.
Thinvent also has a model with the ARM® Cortex A55 processor (4 cores, up to 1.9 GHz, 1 MB cache). It has 4 GB of onboard RAM, 64 GB of eMMC storage, dual antenna WiFi and one HDMI output. It is a lower-power option for simpler audio tasks.
Several models include WiFi and several do not. Choose a model with wired Ethernet for the most stable network connection to a music server. Thinvent mini PCs ship with Ubuntu Linux, Thinux™ Embedded Linux, DOS, or no operating system.
