What "HDR 4K Monitor" Actually Means
An HDR 4K monitor combines two separate capabilities: 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels, also called UHD — roughly 8.3 million pixels, four times the pixel count of Full HD 1080p) and High Dynamic Range support, which expands the difference between the darkest and brightest parts of an image while showing a wider range of colours. A 4K panel alone gives you sharpness and desktop real estate; HDR is what gives you deeper blacks, brighter highlights and more lifelike colour.
