What Is a Mini Computer Server?
A mini computer server is a small form factor PC that runs server software, such as file sharing, network services, local applications, or lightweight virtualization. It uses a standard processor, memory and solid-state storage in a compact chassis. Because it draws less power and takes up little space, it suits offices, branch sites, labs, and retail locations where a full tower server is not practical.
Key Specifications
The Thinvent mini PC range covers several processor families and memory configurations:
-
Processors: Intel Core i3-1215U, Core i5-1335U, Core i7-1255U, Core 5 120U, Core Ultra 5 125U, Celeron N5095A, and AMD Ryzen 5 7430U. ARM Cortex A55 is also available in the Micro 6 Pro.
-
Cores: From 4 cores (Celeron N5095A, Cortex A55) to 12 cores (Core Ultra 5 125U).
-
Maximum frequency: From 1.9 GHz to 5.0 GHz.
-
Memory: 4 GB to 16 GB. DDR4 is used on most models, and DDR5 is used on the Core Ultra 5 125U.
-
Storage: 32 GB eMMC on the Micro 6 Pro, and 128 GB to 512 GB SSD on the other models.
-
Networking: Dual LAN on the Core i7-1255U and Core Ultra 5 125U models. Dual Band WiFi is optional on several models, and some are sold without WiFi.
-
Operating systems: Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, or Thinux Embedded Linux, depending on the model.
Choosing a Configuration
For file serving, print serving, and light services, an Intel Core i3-1215U or Celeron N5095A model is usually sufficient. For multiple virtual machines, containers, or heavier workloads, a Core i5, Core i7, Core Ultra 5, or AMD Ryzen 5 model with 16 GB of memory has more headroom. For embedded or fixed-function tasks with a low power budget, the Micro 6 Pro with ARM Cortex A55 and Thinux Embedded Linux is the smallest option in the range.
| Model | Processor | Cores | Max Frequency | Memory | Storage | OS |
