Media playback needs a processor that decodes video smoothly, enough memory for the operating system and apps, and storage for local files. The Thinvent range covers these needs at several performance levels. Entry models use the Intel Celeron N5095A with 4 cores, up to 2.9 GHz, and 4 GB of DDR4 RAM. Higher models use Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors or AMD Ryzen 5 processors with up to 16 GB of RAM.

Choosing a Model for Media Playback
For basic streaming and local video in standard definition or HD, the Thinvent Treo with Intel N5095A or the Micro 6 Pro is enough. For 4K playback, multitasking or a Windows media center setup, choose an Intel Core i3 or higher, or an AMD Ryzen 5 model. Models with Dual Band WiFi suit streaming over wireless networks. Models without WiFi need a wired Ethernet connection.
The Micro 6 Pro includes one HDMI output and runs Thinux embedded Linux. The Aero and Treo models run Windows 11 Pro or Ubuntu Linux.
