A new generation desktop is a compact computer that replaces a full tower PC for office, kiosk, and terminal work. Thinvent does not sell a conventional tower desktop in this range. The Thinvent Neo S series is a thin client, a small desktop that runs applications from a server or stores its own operating system locally. Thinvent builds the Neo S series around the Intel Celeron J1900 processor, a 7th generation chip with 4 cores, a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz, and 2 MB of cache.
Every model in the Neo S series uses 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a solid-state drive. Storage options include 32 GB MLC SSD, 128 GB SSD, and 256 GB SSD. Some models use two 32 GB MLC SSDs. The 19V adapters are rated at 1.3A or 3A, depending on the model. None of the Neo S models includes Wi-Fi.

Use Cases
Thin clients suit offices, call centres, retail point-of-sale, digital signage, and kiosks. The Neo S models run Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, or Thinux Embedded Linux. A buyer can also choose a model without an operating system and install a custom image. Models with a larger SSD suit local applications. Models with less storage suit centrally managed deployments.
