What Is a Mini PC?

A mini PC is a small desktop computer built on a compact board inside a small case. It has a processor, memory, storage, and video output, and it runs a full operating system. Mini PCs take up little desk or rack space, use less power than a standard tower, and suit kiosks, digital signage, machine control, and office work.

Key Specifications

Mini PCs differ mainly in processor type, memory, and storage. The Thinvent range includes two processor families:

  • ARM Cortex-A55 (Micro 6 Pro): 4 cores, up to 1.9 GHz, 1 MB cache, 4 GB onboard RAM, 32 GB eMMC storage, one HDMI output, dual antenna WiFi, and Thinux embedded Linux. Its low power draw suits always-on devices.

  • Intel N5095A (Treo): 4 cores, up to 2.9 GHz, 4 MB cache, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, 1 TB SSD, and a 12V 5A adapter. It runs Windows 11 IoT or Windows 11 Pro and has no WiFi.

Thinvent Mini PCs

Thinvent has mini PCs with ARM and Intel processors. The Micro 6 Pro is available with an HDMI to VGA cable, a keyboard and mouse set, or a VESA mount. The Treo is available with Windows 11 IoT or Windows 11 Pro, and with or without a keyboard and mouse set.
