What is a mini PC?
A mini PC is a complete desktop computer in a small chassis. It runs a full operating system such as Windows 11 Pro or Ubuntu Linux, and it connects to a monitor, keyboard and mouse like a standard PC. Mini PCs take less desk space than tower computers and draw less power. They suit offices, kiosks, digital signage, point-of-sale systems and light industrial control.
Thinvent mini PCs use processors from Intel, AMD and ARM. The Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and Core Ultra 5 models, the AMD Ryzen 5 model, and the Intel Celeron and ARM Cortex A55 models cover a range of performance levels. Each model lists its processor generation, core count, maximum clock speed and cache size.
Key specifications
Processor core count and clock speed set the performance of a mini PC. The Intel Core i5-1335U in the Thinvent Aero has 10 cores, up to 4.6 GHz and 12 MB of cache. The Intel Core Ultra 5 125U in the Thinvent Aero has 12 cores and up to 4.3 GHz. The AMD Ryzen 5 7430U in the Thinvent Treo has 6 cores and up to 4.3 GHz, with 16 MB of cache.
Memory and storage affect multitasking and file handling. Thinvent mini PCs ship with 4 GB to 16 GB of RAM. The Aero models use DDR4 RAM, and the Core Ultra 5 model uses DDR5 RAM. Storage ranges from 32 GB eMMC on the Micro 6 Pro to 512 GB SSD on several Aero and Treo models.
Power and connectivity vary by model. Most Aero and Treo models use a 12V or 19V external adapter. Some models include Dual Band WiFi, and others have no WiFi. The Aero Core i7 model includes Dual LAN ports. The Micro 6 Pro includes Dual Antenna WiFi and one HDMI port.
