What Is a Mini PC?
A mini PC is a small desktop computer built on a compact board and enclosure. It has a full processor, memory, storage and ports, and it takes up little desk or rack space. Mini PCs run standard operating systems such as Windows 11 Pro and Ubuntu Linux, or embedded Linux on ARM-based models. They suit office work, digital signage, kiosks, point-of-sale and light edge computing.
Key Specifications
Thinvent mini PCs use processors from Intel, AMD and ARM. Processor generation, core count, maximum frequency and cache size set the performance class of each system. Memory and storage set how many applications run at once and how much data the system holds.
-
Processors: Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 (12th and 13th generation), Intel Core 5 and Core Ultra 5 (14th generation), Intel Celeron N5095A (11th generation), AMD Ryzen 5 7430U (7000 Series), and ARM Cortex-A55.
-
Core counts: 4 to 12 cores, with maximum frequencies from 1.9 GHz to 5.0 GHz.
-
Memory: 4 GB to 16 GB, using DDR4 or DDR5 RAM. The ARM model uses 4 GB onboard RAM.
-
Storage: 32 GB eMMC on the ARM model, and 128 GB to 512 GB SSD on the other models.
-
Wireless: Dual band WiFi on some models. Other models have no WiFi.
-
Networking: Dual LAN on selected Aero models.
-
Power: 5V, 12V and 19V external adapters, from 2A to 7A depending on the model.

Use Cases
Mini PCs fit wherever space, power or noise limits a full tower. Typical applications include:
-
Office and business desktops
-
Digital signage and kiosks
-
Point-of-sale and retail terminals
-
Industrial and embedded control
-
Edge computing and light server tasks
Models with dual LAN support networked equipment. Models with dual band WiFi suit wireless-only sites.
Thinvent Mini PCs
Thinvent has mini PCs in three families. The Aero series covers Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and Core Ultra 5 processors with up to 16 GB memory and up to 512 GB SSD. The Treo series covers Intel Celeron and AMD Ryzen 5 processors. The Micro 6 Pro uses an ARM Cortex-A55 processor with Thinux embedded Linux for compact embedded use. Choose the family and processor that match your workload, operating system and connectivity needs.
