Edge computing means doing the inference where the camera is — not shipping every frame to a cloud GPU. The hardware needs to handle vision and inference workloads under industrial conditions: 24/7 duty, dust, heat, vibration, no fan to fail.

Thinvent's IPC5 is the edge variant of the IPC line. Intel Core i5 / i7 / Core Ultra 5 with integrated GPU and NPU, up to 64 GB RAM, sealed extruded-aluminium chassis with serrated fins, fanless and ventless, rated 0 °C to 50 °C.

Inference-class CPU + integrated GPU/NPU

IPC5 ships with Intel Core i5-1240P (12 core), Core i5-1335U (10 core), Core i7-1255U (10 core, dual LAN), Core 5 120U (10 core), or Core Ultra 5 125U (12 core, dual LAN, NPU). Integrated graphics handle vision and image-processing workloads; the Ultra 5 NPU adds dedicated inference acceleration.

Edge-grade chassis, not a desktop case

Solid extruded aluminium with serrated fins. Fanless and ventless. Weight over 2 kg gives the thermal mass to absorb burst loads. Rated 0 °C to 50 °C — no thermal derating in summer ambient.

Industrial I/O for the camera and the PLC

1 × HDMI (configurable to 2 ×), 1 × VGA, 1 Gbps Ethernet (dual LAN on i7/Ultra), up to 6 × DB9 RS-232C and optional RS-485. Direct integration with industrial cameras, PLCs and field controllers — no USB-to-serial adapter.

Yes. Default IPC5 ships with Windows 11 IoT Value, but Linux distributions (Ubuntu LTS, Debian) and "without OS" are configurable. SSH, Docker and k3s all run cleanly.

Standard CPU-based PyTorch and TensorFlow run as expected. Intel's OpenVINO accelerates inference on the integrated GPU and NPU for the Ultra-5 SKU.

We design and manufacture in Goa, and have offices in Gurgaon and Delhi.

1-year standard warranty per thinvent.in/a/warranty. For government / GeM, on-site 1-3 year warranty with optional Defective Media Retention (DMR) via gov@thinvent.in.
