Thin Client Setup

This article explains how to set up the Micro and Neo (Thinux).

NETWORK SETTINGS

By default, both the Micro and Neo use DHCP to obtain an IP address. To assign a static IP address to the device, follow these steps:

ENABLE KIOSK MODE

Follow these steps to enable Kiosk mode on the Micro and Neo:

  • Open the Start menu of the thin client. Click Settings and then click the Enable Kiosk Mode option.

  • The system asks for the password to enable Kiosk mode. Enter Thinux as the password. When the system asks you to reboot, click Yes.

  • After the reboot, the RDP connection window appears. Click Configure and click connection number 1, or any other number, to make changes.

  • The configuration window opens, where you set the server IP address. In the Server address field, enter the IP address of the server that you want to connect to.

  • If your network has a domain name, enter it in the Domain field.

  • Enter the username and password of the Windows or Linux user account that you want to connect to in the Username Password field.

  • To connect the thin client to the server automatically whenever you power it on, set the Autoconnect option to Yes. Otherwise, leave it set to No.

  • Click OK to Save your configuration. The main RDP connection window appears again and shows your configured server information. Select the connection number and click OK to connect to the remote server.
