Thin Client Solution - Fanless Thin Client Solutions for Business

What is a thin client solution?

A thin client solution is a small computer that runs the applications and data from a central server or cloud service. The thin client shows the desktop and sends keyboard and mouse input to the server. Because most processing happens elsewhere, the thin client needs little storage and a small processor. This makes it easier to manage many endpoints from one place.

Thinvent has two thin client lines for this purpose. The Thinvent Micro 5R uses an ARM Cortex A53 processor with 4 cores running up to 2.0 GHz. It has 2 GB of onboard RAM, 16 GB of eMMC storage, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, and HDMI 2.0 output. It runs Thinux embedded Linux. The Thinvent Neo S uses an Intel Celeron J1900 processor with 4 cores running up to 2.4 GHz and 2 MB of cache. Neo S models come with 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and 32 GB MLC SSD, 128 GB SSD, or 256 GB SSD storage. The Neo S has no WiFi. Operating system options include Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, Thinux embedded Linux, DOS, or no operating system.

Use cases

Thin clients suit call centres, retail point-of-sale, kiosks, digital signage, schools, and office desks where users need a standard desktop. The Micro 5R suits compact, low-power deployments with wireless connectivity. The Neo S suits desktop workloads that need more memory, larger storage, and a choice of operating system, including Windows 11 Pro for organisations that run Windows-based remote sessions.

Thinvent thin client products

Thinvent thin clients are designed for centrally managed desktop deployments. Choose the Micro 5R for a compact ARM-based endpoint with WiFi 6. Choose the Neo S for an Intel-based endpoint with a choice of memory, storage, and operating system. Both lines support the server-based computing model that a thin client solution relies on.
