15Th+Gen+Cpu - 15th Gen Intel Core Ultra Mini PCs & Industrial Computers

What Is a "15th Gen" CPU?

"15th gen" is the popular name for Intel's Core Ultra Series 2 processors, codenamed Arrow Lake, which launched on October 24, 2024. Intel moved away from the simple "14th Gen" numbering for this family and rebranded it under the Core Ultra name, so you will see parts like Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9 rather than "Core i5-15xxx". Arrow Lake follows Meteor Lake and is built on a disaggregated multi-chip module design, with the compute tile manufactured on a 3 nm-class process. The architecture pairs Lion Cove performance cores with Skymont efficiency cores, adds a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for on-device AI workloads, and uses the LGA 1851 socket on desktop boards.

Key Technical Details

The generational jump matters most in efficiency and AI acceleration rather than raw clock speed. Arrow Lake chips deliver strong performance-per-watt, which is exactly what fanless and sealed-chassis industrial systems need, and the integrated NPU offloads light inference tasks such as vision pre-processing, OCR and edge analytics without tying up the CPU. Desktop Core Ultra 200S parts arrived first, with mobile versions following at CES 2025.

Where 15th Gen Makes Sense

Because Arrow Lake is strongest in efficiency and AI throughput, it suits workloads that run continuously in enclosed or dusty environments: machine vision on production lines, digital signage and kiosk controllers, edge gateways that pre-filter camera or sensor data, and virtualisation hosts running several thin-client sessions. For simple browser-and-office tasks, a lower-power platform is often more cost-effective — the right choice depends on whether you need sustained multi-core throughput, NPU offload, or both.

Choosing the Right Platform

If your application is light — data entry, POS, basic kiosks — an efficient entry-level processor will run cooler and cheaper. If you are running AI inference at the edge, multiple virtual machines, or heavy multi-tasking, a newer-generation platform pays off in responsiveness and headroom. Always match the processor to the thermal design of the enclosure: a sealed, fanless chassis needs a chip whose efficiency keeps temperatures stable over years of 24/7 duty.

Thinvent's Range

Thinvent builds industrial computers, mini PCs, thin clients and all-in-one PCs for deployment worldwide, engineered for fanless operation, wide-temperature tolerance and long service life. Our catalogue spans Intel and ARM platforms across multiple generations, so you can select a configuration matched to your workload — from compact thin clients and cloud terminals to industrial PCs and all-in-one units for shop floors, kiosks and control rooms. Where the newest-generation silicon is required for AI or high-throughput edge work, our team can advise on the right platform and form factor for your deployment.
