Factors That Affect Thin Client Cost

Processor: The Micro 5R uses an ARM Cortex A53 with 4 cores. The Neo S uses an Intel J1900 with 4 cores and up to 2.4 GHz.

Memory: Neo S models are offered with 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. The Micro 5R has 2 GB of onboard RAM.

Storage: The Micro 5R has 16 GB of eMMC storage. Neo S models are offered with 32 GB MLC SSD, 128 GB SSD, or 256 GB SSD, and some models have two 32 GB MLC SSDs.

Operating system: Neo S models are available with Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, DOS, Thinux Embedded Linux, or without an operating system. Choosing no operating system lets the buyer install their own.

Wireless: Micro 5R includes WiFi 6 and Bluetooth. Neo S models do not include WiFi.

Power: Power adapters are 5V 2A for the Micro 5R and 19V 1.3A or 19V 3A for the Neo S models.
Choosing a Configuration
Lower-cost configurations suit basic tasks such as terminal access, kiosks and light office work. Models with more memory and SSD storage suit multi-application use and Windows-based workloads. Buyers who already hold a Windows or Linux licence can choose a model without an operating system.
