What is a fanless ATX motherboard?
A fanless ATX motherboard is a mainboard that uses the standard ATX form factor and runs without a cooling fan. Heat leaves the board and the processor through passive heatsinks and the metal enclosure. Without fans, the system has no moving parts to wear out and no air intakes that pull in dust.
The ATX form factor is a common size standard for desktop and industrial mainboards. A fanless design keeps that layout while removing the fan. This suits factory floors, kiosks, and control cabinets where dust, heat, or vibration would shorten the life of a fan-cooled system.
