The IBM RS/6000 is a family of workstations and servers that replaced the IBM RT PC platform in February 1990 and was the first computer line to use IBM's POWER and PowerPC microprocessors. Its CPU planar held memory cards of 8, 16 or 32 MB, giving systems 16 MB to 256 MB of total memory. For a modern, compact alternative, the Thinvent Treo Mini PC line offers Intel and AMD processors with up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of SSD storage.
