What Is an Industrial Fanless Computer?
An industrial fanless computer is a compact computer that cools its processor through a sealed, heat-dissipating metal chassis instead of internal fans. Because it has no moving fans, it has fewer parts that wear out, takes in no dust, and runs quietly. It is built for factory floors, machine control, kiosks, digital signage, and other sites where a standard desktop would not last.
Thinvent builds fanless industrial PCs in the IPC series and thin clients and mini PCs in the Micro series. The IPC5 and IPC3 use Intel® Core™ processors from the 12th generation. The Micro 5R and Micro 6 Pro use ARM® Cortex processors.
Key Specifications
The Thinvent IPC5 is available with Intel® Core™ i5-1240P or Core™ i7-1255U processors. The i5-1240P has 12 cores, runs up to 4.4 GHz, and has 12 MB of cache. The i7-1255U has 10 cores, runs up to 4.7 GHz, and has 12 MB of cache. Memory options range from 16 GB to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM, and storage options range from 512 GB to 1 TB SSD. Dual LAN and dual band WiFi are available on selected models.
The IPC3 uses the Intel® Core™ i3-1215U processor. It has 6 cores, runs up to 4.4 GHz, and has 10 MB of cache. It is paired with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD.
The Micro 5R thin client uses a 4-core ARM® Cortex A53 processor running up to 2.0 GHz, with 2 GB of onboard RAM and 16 GB eMMC storage. It supports WiFi 6, Bluetooth, and HDMI 2.0 output, and runs Thinux™ Embedded Linux.
The Micro 6 Pro mini PC uses a 4-core ARM® Cortex A55 processor running up to 1.9 GHz, with 4 GB of onboard RAM and 32 GB eMMC storage. It has dual antenna WiFi, an HDMI port, and runs Thinux™ Embedded Linux.
