A PC can drive four monitors when its graphics engine supports four independent display pipes and the system exposes enough physical video outputs to connect them. On modern x86 platforms, the integrated graphics built into Intel® Core™ and Intel® N-series processors support up to four simultaneous displays, so the real constraint is usually the number of ports on the chassis, not the GPU itself. A machine with only one HDMI and one DisplayPort cannot natively feed four screens — it needs either four onboard outputs (for example 2× HDMI plus 2× DisplayPort), or a supported splitting technology such as DisplayPort MST.
There are two details that catch people out.
