What Is an Intel Xeon Processor?
Intel Xeon is a family of server and workstation processors. Intel sells Xeon chips for data centers, networks, edge computing, and workstations. The Xeon 6, Xeon 6+, and Xeon CPU Max lines are current options for different workloads. Xeon chips use more cores, more memory channels, and more PCIe lanes than standard desktop processors.
Xeon Compared with the Processors in the Thinvent Range
The Thinvent range does not include Intel Xeon processors. Every Thinvent product on this page uses an Intel Core, Intel Celeron, AMD Ryzen, or ARM Cortex processor.
| Processor | Product Series | Cores | Max Frequency | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intel Core i5-1240P | IPC5 | 12 | 4.4 GHz | 16 to 32 GB |
| Intel Core i7-1255U | IPC5 | 10 | 4.7 GHz | 16 to 32 GB |
| Intel Core i3-1215U | Aero Mini PC, IPC3 | 6 | 4.4 GHz | 8 GB |
| Intel Core 5 120U | Aero Mini PC | 10 | 5.0 GHz | 16 GB |
| AMD Ryzen 5 7430U | Treo Mini PC | 6 | 4.3 GHz | 16 GB |
| Intel Celeron N5095A | Treo Mini PC | 4 | 2.9 GHz | 4 GB |
| ARM Cortex A53 | Micro 5R Thin Client | 4 | 2.0 GHz | 2 GB |
Where These Systems Fit
Thinvent systems suit workloads that need a compact, fanless or low-power computer at the edge of a network. The IPC5 and IPC3 industrial PCs run Windows 11 IoT or Ubuntu Linux. The Aero and Treo Mini PCs fit office and light server tasks. The Micro 5R thin client connects to a central server for remote desktops.
Thinvent Products Featuring Intel and Other Processors
The Thinvent range covers industrial PCs, mini PCs, and thin clients. Models with Intel Core processors include the IPC5 and IPC3 industrial PCs and the Aero Mini PC. The Treo Mini PC uses an Intel Celeron or AMD Ryzen processor. The Micro 5R thin client uses an ARM Cortex A53 processor. Buyers who need a rack server with Xeon processors should look at other suppliers.
