What Is a Thin Client?
A thin client is a small computer that runs little software of its own. It connects to a server, a virtual desktop or a cloud service, and that remote system does the main processing. The thin client shows the screen, takes keyboard and mouse input, and sends it back. Because the device stores little and runs few parts, it is small, quiet and simple to manage.
Thin clients suit offices, call centres, kiosks, schools, retail counters and digital signage. An organisation can set up many units from one central system, which cuts the time spent on updates and repairs at each desk.

Neo S models use the Intel Celeron J1900 processor. It has 4 cores, a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz and 2 MB of cache. Memory options are 4 GB or 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. Storage options are 32 GB MLC SSD, 128 GB SSD, 256 GB SSD or two 32 GB MLC SSDs. Software options are Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, Thinux Embedded Linux, DOS, or no operating system.

Micro 5R uses the ARM Cortex-A53 processor with 4 cores and a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz. It has 2 GB of onboard RAM and 16 GB of eMMC storage. It includes WiFi 6, Bluetooth, one HDMI 2.0 output and one speaker output. It runs Thinux Embedded Linux.
Neo S models do not include WiFi. Buyers who need wireless access should check the Micro 5R or add a network connection.

Choose the Micro 5R for low-power endpoints that need wireless connectivity and a small footprint. Choose a Neo S model when the workload needs more memory, a faster processor or a specific operating system such as Windows 11 Pro. Match the operating system to the remote desktop or application platform the organisation already uses.
