किसान पोर्टल आईडी

What the Farmer Portal ID Is

A Farmer Portal ID is the record a farmer creates on a government agriculture portal such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi portal (pmkisan.gov.in). Registration on the portal is done after authentication, for availing subsidies, benefits and services under Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016. PM Kisan is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from the Government of India, operational from 1.12.2018.

What the Portal Is Used For

The portal is a single online platform for registration, status checking, e-KYC and updates for farmers. The main tasks are:

  • New farmer registration through the registration form on the portal

  • Checking eligibility status on Know Your Status (KYS) on the website or mobile app, or through the Kisan eMitra chatbot

  • Completing e-KYC, which is mandatory for every beneficiary; without it the next instalment may be stopped

  • Accessing mKisan services, which include USSD, pull SMS, push SMS, IVRS, KSEWA and farmer registration

Documents and Steps

A new farmer registers on the portal after authentication. The registration form records personal and land details, and the farmer receives a Farmer ID that links the record to the scheme benefits. After submission, the farmer can track the application on the portal and complete e-KYC to keep the instalments running.

Where the Work Happens

Registration, e-KYC and status checks are browser-based tasks. They run on any desktop or laptop with a current browser and a stable internet connection. In a village service centre, a cooperative society or a block agriculture office, the same tasks run on shared machines that stay switched on through the day, connect over Ethernet or WiFi, and drive a monitor for the operator and the farmer to read together.
