Ms S1 Max Ai Workstation - Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Workstation Guide

What Is the Ryzen AI Max+ 395?

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 is a mobile processor from the Ryzen AI Max lineup. It launched in January 2025 and uses the Zen 5 (Strix Halo) architecture with Socket FP11. The chip has 16 CPU cores.

Key Specifications

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 combines 16 Zen 5 CPU cores with a large integrated Radeon 8060S GPU that has 40 compute units. It also includes an NPU rated above 40 TOPS for AI workloads. Because the processor is built for laptop-class designs, it puts workstation-level memory and graphics capability into a compact system. Platform support, memory configuration and features depend on the system manufacturer and operating system.

Use Cases

The chip suits local AI development, large model experimentation, and graphics-heavy work that needs a compact footprint. Developers can run AI tools on their own hardware, and AMD has the Ryzen AI Developer Platform, a Linux environment with preloaded tools for local AI.

Thinvent Range and the Ryzen AI Max+ 395

The Thinvent range does not include the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. For AMD-based compact systems, the Thinvent® Treo Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 5 7430U (6 cores, up to 4.3 GHz, 16 MB cache) and 16GB DDR4 RAM is the closest match in this range. For higher performance, Thinvent has Intel-based options: the Thinvent® Aero Mini PC with Intel Core 5 120U (10 cores, up to 5.0 GHz, 12 MB cache, 16GB RAM) and the Thinvent® Industrial PC IPC5 with Intel Core i7-1255U (10 cores, up to 4.7 GHz, 12 MB cache, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD).
