What is the Rockchip RK3588?
The RK3588 is an ARM-based system-on-chip (SoC) made by Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd. It is built for AIoT (artificial intelligence of things), edge computing and multimedia devices. It has eight cores: four Cortex-A76 cores running up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores running up to 1.8 GHz. It is made on an 8 nm process.
Key specifications
The RK3588 includes a Mali-G610 MP4 GPU and a 6 TOPS NPU with three cores for INT8 workloads. It decodes 8K video at 60 frames per second and encodes 8K at 30 frames per second. It supports LPDDR4, LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 memory up to 32 GB, and it has PCIe 3.0 x4, USB 3.0, SATA 3.0 and NVMe storage. Its display interfaces include two HDMI 2.1 outputs and one HDMI input. Supported operating systems include Linux, Android 12 to 14 and Debian.
