Ga - Fanless Mini PCs & Industrial Computers

Industrial Computers, Mini PCs and Thin Clients Explained

Thinvent builds compact, fanless computers for businesses that need dependable computing in offices, factories, shops and remote sites. Our range covers mini PCs, thin clients, all-in-one PCs and industrial computers, all designed around low-power Intel and ARM processors, solid-state storage and silent, dust-tolerant cooling. Because there are no spinning fans and no moving parts, these systems keep running in dusty workshops, hot control rooms and 24x7 kiosk deployments where a standard desktop would struggle.

What Makes These Systems Different

The core idea is simple: fewer moving parts, less heat, longer life. Fanless chassis rely on aluminium heatsinks and careful thermal design to move heat away from the processor, which means no dust-clogged fans and no filter cleaning schedules. Storage is solid-state, so there are no spinning disks to fail. Power draw is typically a fraction of a conventional tower PC, which matters when you are running dozens or hundreds of units across a site. Most models offer dual display outputs, gigabit Ethernet, multiple USB ports and a choice of operating systems, including Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, embedded Linux and DOS for legacy or locked-down deployments.

Where They Are Used

These systems suit any environment where reliability and low maintenance matter more than raw speed. Common deployments include point-of-sale terminals, digital signage and menu boards, factory floor HMIs and machine monitoring, thin-client desks in call centres and banks, CCTV and access-control stations, laboratory instruments, and edge gateways that collect data from sensors and send it to the cloud. Because they are small, they fit behind a monitor, inside a kiosk or in a control cabinet with a DIN rail mount.

Choosing the Right Model

Start with the workload. Office and thin-client tasks, browsing, billing and data entry run comfortably on a 4-core Intel N-series or Celeron platform with 8–16 GB of memory. Applications that need more headroom, such as light CAD, video walls or multi-application industrial control, benefit from a Core i3 or i5 with 16–32 GB. For embedded and IoT projects, ARM-based boards offer very low power draw and long-term availability. Storage should be sized for the operating system plus local data, with network or cloud storage handling the rest. If the unit will live in a hot, dusty or vibrating location, choose a fanless industrial model rather than a consumer mini PC.

Thinvent Products Featuring This Technology

Thinvent's portfolio includes the Aero series of fanless mini PCs, thin clients for virtual desktop and remote application delivery, all-in-one PCs with integrated displays, and ruggedised industrial computers for factory and outdoor use. Configurations span Intel Celeron and N-series processors through Core i3 and i5, memory from 4 GB to 64 GB, SSD storage from 128 GB upward, and operating system options covering Windows 11 Pro, Ubuntu Linux, embedded Linux and DOS. Every unit is built for continuous operation, with VESA and DIN rail mounting options and a choice of single or dual gigabit Ethernet.
